フローレンスはフレディ人とホテルで再会し、彼の態度や取り扱いにもはや肝忍袋の緒が切れてこれ以上は耐えられないと訴える。この時、フローレンスがハンガリーに生まれ、ブタペストの反乱が起きた1956年に２才で母親に手を引かれて母国を後にしたことを知る。彼女は現在、英国に帰化していた。彼女は反乱が鎮圧された際に「蒸発」してしまった父の消息を掴めないままでいたが、何としても消息を突きとめようと決心する。彼女はセコンドとしてフレディ人の傍で７年間、英国でのCHESS・トーナメントで出会って以来働いてきたのだった。彼女と彼とは殆ど同じ年令であるにもかかわらず、二人の関係は母と子のようなものに近かった。ともかく二人の口論は激化し。その結果、彼女が本当に心から信頼できるのは自分自身だけだという確信は強まることとなる。（フレディとフローレンス、ノーバディズ･サイド）
